Bare Escentuals Review

Hello everyone! I back with a review on the Bare Minerals Starter Kit that I purchased in July :p I've been working on custom jewelry orders, but I will try to update my blog as often as I can.

Our bareMinerals 8-piece Customizable Get Started Kit has everything you need for a flawless complexion. Just add your choice of bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation — choose from 20 shades in either the natural luminous Original or natural Matte finish. Clinically proven to improve the appearance of your skin, award-winning bareMinerals SPF15 Foundation looks like a powder, feels like a cream and buffs on beautifully for a 100% natural, no-makeup look.

The started kit comes with:
  1. Bare Minerals foundation in your color. Choose Matte or Original
  2. Original Mineral Veil
  3. Warmth All-Over Face Color
  4. Full Flawless Face brush
  5. Flawless Application Face Brush
  6. Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
  7. Get Started DVD
  8. Bonus: Well-Cared For Brush Conditioning Shampoo

Bare Minerals Matte

FinishEliminates shine for a flawless natural matte finish all day

Key Skin Benefits- All the benefits of our originals SPF 15 foundation, plus

  • Contains Rareminerals ActiveSoil Complex which minimizes pores and promotes cell turnover for fresher, smoother skin
  • Absorbs excess oil without drying skin

I got matched to the color Warm Tan in the Matte version. I think that this color is a pretty good match. There are some days where it seems to be lighter than my skin color because of the hot weather.  Where I live the temperature can be hot one week and then cold the next week so my skin color is constantly changing. When that happens, I just use a little bit of the Warmth All-Over Face Color and it fixes the problem. I think that this color will be perfect for my winter skin color. This has helped control shine, but I still think that you should use something that controls shine underneath the foundation. I really like the Mineral Veil. It gives my face a nice airbrushed look.

Bare Mineral Brushes

I do not like the Full Flawless Face Brush or the Flawless Application Face Brush. They're good at applying the foundation and all, but these brushes shed like crazy. There's always at least 3-4 bristles on my face by the time I'm done applying everything. I have no complaints for the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush.  I just use my foundation as a concealer with this brush and it gets the job done. The Well-Cared For Brush Conditioning Shampoo does a great job at cleaning the brushes.

Freebies: Tinted Hydrating Mineral Veil and Blush in Avant Garden

I received a free Blush and a Tinted Hydrating Mineral Veil  from the promotion that they had a while ago. The blush goes well with my skin tone. I've tried the Hydrating Mineral Veil, but I will only use it during the winter since my skin becomes a bit dryer in the winter time.

In conclusion, I really like Bare Minerals. It gives me buildable coverage and my skin hasn't had a negative reaction to it. All you is a little bit to cover your entire face. It feels like I have nothing on, and it stays in its place.

I really like Bare Minerals as well!
I see so many great reviews of it like yours, but there are also lots of negative reviews. I don't understand what other people are doing to get bad results with it. All I have been able to conclude is that they either weren't correctly matched or they aren't buffing it in enough. I agree that the brushes could use some work. Even though they apply the foundation well, they do shed too much. Have you been able to find any other brushes to use with their foundation that still gives you good coverage?

Yes I did! I just bought Sigma Beauty's F82 brush during Black Friday and I love it! I'm able to blend the foundation in a lot better than with the Bare Minerals brush :)
